The domain
Welcome
We operate, under the name EARL de la Brande, Château Pont les Moines , Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux red, Delphine's family property for four generations.
We also operate, in the heart of “Entre-deux-Mers”, Château Bran de Compostelle , an estate on which Eric settled in 1983.
We market our wines via “Vignobles Gagné & Barrat SARL”

Bran Castle of Compostela
Located in the commune of Frontenac, the BRAN DE COMPOSTELLE vineyard is located in a region rich in more than eight centuries of wine-growing history: Entre Deux Mers.
Crossed by a path once used by the pilgrims of Compostela, it borders the Commandery of Sallebruneau which was successively owned by the Knights of the Order of the Templars then that of the Hospitallers of Saint-Jean of Jerusalem to end up in the hands of the Knights of the Order of Malta.
Located on clay-limestone soils, it extends over an area of 44 hectares.
Château Pont les Moines
Family property for four generations, Château Pont Les Moines extends over two communes: Civrac de Blaye and Saint Mariens.
Located north of Bordeaux, in the "Hauts de Gironde" region, on the border of the Langue d'Oc and the Langue d'Oïl, its 28 hectares are characterized by clay-limestone and sandy-clay soils which give it confer its finesse.

Organic Agriculture
In 2010 , we made the choice to change the way we work by adopting the precepts of Organic Agriculture .
We have therefore been, for both properties, organic certified by Ecocert for almost 13 years .
We have four AB certified wines for sale :
- Château Bran de Compostela, red Bordeaux
- Château Bran de Compostelle - Cuvée Louisa, Bordeaux superior red, aged in oak barrels ( Louisa being our eldest daughter )
- Château Pont les Moines, Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux red
- Mademoiselle Adèle B. de Compostelle, Bordeaux rosé ( Adèle being our youngest daughter )
HVE certification
Since 2017 , we have also been certified High Environmental Value (HVE) - level 3 by Bureau Véritas.
This certification makes it possible to certify that the elements of biodiversity (hedges, grass strips, trees, flowers, insects, etc.) are very widely present on the farm and that the pressure of agricultural practices on the environment (air, climate, water, soil, biodiversity, landscapes) is reduced to a minimum .

To sum up
The Organic Agriculture certification certifies that our wines are "ORGANIC", without the use of synthetic pesticides, without chemical fertilizers... the old-fashioned way!
HVE level 3 certification certifies that our operation, as a whole, does everything in its power to promote biodiversity (hedges, wild areas, permanent fallows, etc.) and make our impact positive.
For example, we have planted more than 2000 meters of hedges, isolated trees to create refuges , dug water points for wildlife in summer, put in place herbaceous strips to develop areas conducive to insects , bat nest boxes...., developed a balanced environment.
It seemed important to us to show that beyond Organic Farming, the overall management of the farm is also essential.
